Overview
Thank you for your interest in USB Media Explorer. The latest version includes:
-
A Mass Storage driver. This allows devices with USB Host support to access flash/pen drives and card readers as well as other Mass Storage devices.
-
Device examples: Nexus 9, Nexus 7 (G1 & G2), Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 5, Nexus 10, Moto X
-
A full function Photo Viewer that supports both JPEG and RAW photo types. This supports view, copy and delete photos without first transferring them to the tablet/phone.
-
A HTTP stream server for streaming videos and other media.
-
An audio player that includes support for most meta data and album art formats.
-
A File browser for viewing and transferring files between the internal and USB drive. (Advanced Screen)
-
A WebDAV server (Read & Write) capable of exposing USB contents to ES Explorer, Dice Player, XBMC (Gotham or newer), Windows, Linux (davfs) and many more.
Supported Hardware
NMI should work with most any Mass Storage device that is formatted as FAT/FAT32, NTFS or Ext2/3/4. I have a received many requests for a list of compatible devices. I have tested devices from these vendors.
OTG Cables
All in Ones
Card Readers
Cameras
There are two common camera USB protocols. USB Mass Storage (UMS) and Media Transport Protocol (MTP/PTP). Cameras supporting UMS should work directly with NMI. MTP cameras, will require the card to be removed and the use of a card reader.
